How long does new sod take to fully take root?
This is a common question we get from clients. The answer is that sometimes it depends. It can depend on which type of sod installed and how your yard was prepared for sod.
The answer we give to our clients is often sod takes root in 10-15 days in Jacksonville summer season. And it could take closer to 20-30 days in our winter season.
As long as you are water properly, the grass roots should grow quickly. Don't over-water the sod, but a good 20 minutes twice a days in the first week and gradually reduce it until 4 weeks have passed.
