Plants are part of our nature that help us survive in this constantly changing world that we are living in. Just like other elements, it is important for us to take good care of them. One way of doing that is by planting more trees or just having a piece of green lawn to help clean the air that you and your family breathe.
A landscape would be a nice start to doing that. And one of the main characters to that is the humble set of sod. It gives beauty to the surroundings and at the same time prevents soil erosion and mud. It sure does clean the air and surroundings because it has the quality of filtering all the dirt and dust around your area. If you have no idea on how to grow it on your lawn, there are many
sod services that can help you with that. But if you are the type of person who wants to try growing it without those expert services, this one is for you.
The first thing you need to do is to clean the area and make sure that there are no other grass and rocks that can be a reason for the new sod to die. Cultivate the soil by digging around 10 to 15 cm deep. After that, you need to add fertilizer to make sure that your effort will not be wasted. And if you will notice that the soil is not a high quality type, you can add a bit of topsoil to mix it up with the fertilizer. Then that is the time that you will install the new sod.
Now, the common question here is how many times do we have to water a new set of sod? So after laying the sod, you need to water it for about 20 minutes, so that the topsoil will be thoroughly mixed with the fertilizer. You need to water it twice every day, morning and afternoon. And that is for two months until the new sod will have roots that can absorb all the nutrients given.
